public class DirTree
extends JTree

DirTree provides a tree-view on a tree of folders. It can be used as an alternative to JFileChooser (which is list-based) for selecting folders.

Constructor Detail

DirTree

public DirTree(boolean fileSystemRootsOnly,
               File startDir)

Creates a new DirTree. When fileSystemRootsOnly is true, it will show the file system roots at the top level (i.e., on Windows "a:\", "c:\", etc.), else it will start with the root as specified by the OS (i.e. "Desktop" on Windows).

Returns the currently selected directory, if any.

Returns:

Null, if no directory is currently selected.

getFileFor

public File getFileFor(TreePath path)

Returns the folder indicated by the specified TreePath. Returns null when the TreePath did not refer to a folder, e.g. when the user accidentally clicked on a temporary node displayed during retrieval of subfolders.
